BOAT TRIP TO BONIFACIO
Boats are accessible via a removable aluminum ramp, and you'll also be helped by the boat staff.
The Lavezzi islands are not accessible at all, but there are plenty of other tours.
This is clearly one of the activities not to be missed during your stay in South Corsica 😊
Visit Bonifacio
Visit the upper town of Porto-Vecchio
Joëlette tour
Parachute ascension
4x4 mountain excursion
Day trip. Two requirements for this activity: being able to transfer into the 4x4 with assistance, and the wheelchair being foldable to fit into the 4x4's boot.
Visit to a Corsican pig farm
Visit to the farm and tasting of 100% Corsican charcuterie.
The buggies are not accessible, but several of our customers have informed me that the organizers help people to get into the buggy (not suitable for all types of disability). This activity is very popular, so book as soon as possible.
Figari go-karting
Food and craft markets
We recommend the two markets in the commune (Lecci), which are the most important in the region.
. Food & craft market every Wednesday morning in the Lecci tourist office parking lot, 3 minutes from the Villas Lantana (generally wheelchair accessible)
. Saint Cyprien night market by the sea (July/August only) - wheelchair accessible as it's on the road.
Galaxy Complex
Padula Farm
Alain ULM
Discover Corsica from the air.
Parking right next to the start, transfer assistance.
Not suitable for all types of disability, please phone for more information.
See the mountains
Here's a 2h30 itinerary for a day's outing, which will take you to the Ospédale dam, give you superb views of Porto-Vecchio, the typical Corsican village of Zonza, the Aiguilles de Bavella, the port of Solenzara and all the beaches north of Porto-Vecchio.
Tip: check the weather forecast to be sure of good weather, otherwise you'll be in the clouds..
Turtle Park
The park is 30 minutes from Ajaccio
(2h30 from Villas Lantana).
The park covers more than 2.5 hectares and is almost entirely wheelchair-accessible. It also includes a snack bar, a store and wheelchair-accessible toilets.
Reduced rates are available for wheelchair users and their companions.
Handi-plage de Saint-Cyprien
The Saint-Cyprien beach is a 5-minute drive away, with two disabled access points.
The first is on the "shopping center" side (towards La Poste) - 4 to 5 PMR spaces on asphalt, concrete walkway to mid-beach, then carpet to the water in summer, tiralo in the box at parking level (code 731).
The second is close to the "chez Marco" restaurant: two parking spaces, wooden pathway, then carpet with tiralo in summer. (box code to take the tiralo 931)
Pinarello Handi-Plage
Handi-Plage de Fautéa
Fautéa beach is a 10-minute drive away. Parking is in the "Le Fautéa" restaurant parking lot (wheelchair accessible).
The parking area is earthen, generally wheelchair-accessible, with a wooden walkway to mid-beach, then a carpet to the water with a tiralo.
The beach is very pretty, but very difficult for wheelchair users to bathe on, as there is a steep descent into the water.
Santa Giuglia Beach
One of Corsica's most beautiful beaches, but extremely busy in summer.
There are 2 entrances :
. The 1st near the emblematic pontoon, a parking space, hard-packed earth, tiralo and carpet, which is generally practicable.
. The second access is next to the first-aid post, but there's no parking next to it, so you'll have to return to the main parking lot (for a fee). Mats and tiralo.
Balistra Handi-Plage
The Balistra beach is very wild, with virtually no construction in the vicinity,
It's a 30-minute drive from Bonifacio: two wheelchair spaces on plastic surfacing, wooden ramp to mid-beach then carpet to water, tiralo available in summer. There is a first-aid post.
Information: The last 3 km are on a dirt track that is sometimes poorly maintained.
Palombaggia Handi-Plage
The magnificent Palombaggia beach is a 25-minute drive away. Alternating traffic to access this site as it is a dead-end road: 1 to 2 PMR places, wooden ramp to the first third of the beach then carpet to the water (sometimes partially covered with sand...). Bar not accessible.
The "Palm Beach" restaurant on Palombaggia beach is accessible and has installed a walkway to the water, but there is no tiralo.
. Porto-Vecchio church in the upper town (5cm projection)
. Chapelle de Sainte-Lucie in Porto-Vecchio, where performances of Corsican polyphony are organized.
. Corsican Archaeology Museum in Sartène.
. Casa de Roccapina Museum: a museum on Corsican traditions, rocks and the formation of the Taffoni in a former cantonal house. A wheelchair lift is available for the interior staircases. Toilets for disabled visitors. Outside visit impossible in wheelchair.
. Musée de la Corse in Corte: Museum on the history of Corsica, accessible indoors, with elevators and toilets for wheelchair users. Very limited outside visit, compensated by a very representative model of the building. There are cobbled streets in the vicinity, but Corte town center is not very accessible.
. Musée Fesh in Ajaccio: Museum on Napoleon, fully adapted with PRM toilets.
. A Cupulatta near Ajaccio: Turtle protection park, home to numerous species, wheelchair accessible with picnic areas, PRM toilets.
